“Our family has been enrolled with the NWT Montessori Society for two years, and we are excited to be entering our third year. Our oldest daughter will continue in aftercare, while her younger sibling will join the CASA program at the same school for Fall 2026.
When our oldest started the Montessori CASA downtown, her educators quickly recognized that she had unique needs and provided in-class support to address her emotional and physical needs. With the guidance of the Executive Director, we were able to access a 1:1 support person who worked closely with our family and child development team to meet her needs in the classroom. By her second year, the progress she made in emotional regulation and sensory needs was remarkable, and she required only a 1:Multiple support person. Now, as we transition to Junior Kindergarten this fall, her new school believes she has the emotional capacity to participate without dedicated assistants.
Throughout this transition, the educators at Montessori have been incredibly supportive, working with us on transition plans and supportive meetings.

The staff work very hard at encouraging ‘practical life’ skills and hands-on learning that produces such confidence in our children. We are so overjoyed to see them gain such confidence and independence at such an early age.
The staff here are truly amazing; they feel like an extension of our own family.
